Ben Houge’s Shanghai Traces is the artist’s response to the massive beautification campaign that Shanghai underwent in preparation for hosting a World Expo. Houge’s six year residence in Shanghai allowed him to witness the city’s swift development first hand. His artistic work includes photography, video, game design and music composition. Prior to moving to China (and now Spain), Ben lived in Seattle, where he founded Sound Currents, was a member of the Seattle School and was an active member of the Seattle Composers Alliance and the Washington Composers Forum.
