Part I: Redo

Sadie Wechsler’s lyrical photographs present an off-kilter world that leans toward extremes.

  • September 3 - 24, 2015
  • Opening: Thursday, September 3

The body of photographs in Wechsler’s Part 1: Redo, subtly deceptive setups and juxtapositions of faintly discordant elements, feed the discombobulating undercurrent that is characteristic of her practice.

The exhibition consists of twelve images produced in broad ranging scale that varies from moderate to mural-sized. Printed on an inkjet adhesive material that is mounted directly to the gallery walls, the installation is elegant and austere. Wechsler’s images are produced using several approaches: some are single photographs, others are digital collages, and a few document physical collages. A self-published monograph of Wechsler’s photographs titled Part I: Redo will be released in conjunction with the show.
